Frederic Rzewski - Spots (1986) Thirteen one-minute pieces for any four instruments (arranged by Y. Troxler). Each Spot is intricately structured and precise, not unlike the inner workings of a Swiss watch. The descriptions make your head spin, but the music is still easily accessible. Rzewski explains about his music: “You never know whether structural details have a correspondence in meaningful existence. They are fantasies and maybe something happens when the structure is partially submerged.”
